My first poem on this blog

So I know this poem is pretty rough, but I think I am going to make a separate blog for poetry and put more on there :D

-|Memento|-
I saw a Butterfly once
Splendid wings of lilies and tulips
It stretched, blocked out what I thought was sun...

it was funny...
I wished this Butterfly
to Fly Back

PWR At Stanford

PWR, or Program in Writing and Rhetoric, is a mandatory class at Stanford, but unlike IHum, which I despise to a point for the fact of the lectures imposing ideas in my head, I actually like PWR. It gives me this chance to explore topics which I really really enjoy and get to talk to some awesome people. It's even so chill that I'm writing this blog-post in the middle of the class. It's that awesome.

We have to write an RBA, or a research based argument, on any topic we choose as long as it lies somewhere within the confines of our PWR class. For example, I am in South Asian Diaspora, so I'm going to write about the impact of illegal immigration in American neighborhoods socially. I'm really excited for the books that I'm researching and I feel like such a beast when I have a ton of books. It's pretty awesome. :D

By the way, it was also Valentine's Day recently, so in my interest and with the idea of a person in my dorm we created a heart out of circuit chips that were created on a silicon wafer by breaking it up. It was pretty awesome.

Gotta love nanotechnology :D

Ski Trip!!! (and snows bliss) :)

Ski Trip :D :D :D :D
--------------------------
Ski trip was HELLA awesome (for the norcal people) and CHILL (for the socal peeps). I loved the skiing, the snow, and best of all, my dorm Arroyo!

It's a common Stanford tradition here for dorms, co-ops, frats, and other residiontal buildings to go onto one of these awesome ski trips which they will stay out in some cabin and go ski and party!!! XD

-The first night-
Harvard Girl :D
The snow was delightful as cotton lace spread out in a web of purity on the ground, on the building, and collected everywhere in pools of bliss. The first night I fathomed myself out into the frosty air, my breaths amounted in small clouds of happiness. I was with my pals, Lily, Martin, Greg, Maya and Ali. It was a quiet night, the only sounds were those of the crunch of snow beneath our pattering feet. Another breath. Another cloud of joy.

The stars blanketed overhead in little dots of pure stillness, quietness, peace. I suddenly felt a premonition, I knew what was going to occur. I could feel deep in my bones that feeling before your friend comes rushing in the room or you get the answer for a difficult problem. I decided on a wish as the star flew overhead. I'm still hoping on it.

-The second day-
I skied.

I met a girl from Harvard. (we became friends)
I skied.

I crashed.

I skied.

I crashed.
I skied.

I didn't crash :D
I skied some more
and more
and more.
And I felt pretty awesome, so I went from the top of a green slope.
And I crashed at close to 22 mph.
I pulled my thumb ligament.
But it's ok, it's getting better :D

-2nd night-
Casino night. kudos to Ishan for not letting me in his head - :D

but otherwise, awesome.

I give ski-trip 5 stars in mah book! :D

- peace out
